[ That's fine. Rhys is going to act like he didn't just do that, and keep walking in silence. Don't think about it too hard. ]

[yes, it is, and klaus actually has a decent distraction from it:] How are the plants doing?

[theprezident]

They're good. But I wouldn't be surprised if that's got more to do with Sigyn than me.

[channellings]

Either way, I'm glad they're doing good. I thought maybe they'd [don't say die, don't—] at least be a little droopy.

[theprezident]

Would they get droopy that quickly?

[ His tone is doubtful, but after a very brief pause he realises-- ]

I don't really know how plants work.

[channellings]

They'd have to be really neglected, I think? With Sigyn helping like you said, they should be alright, even if you missed checking on them a few times.

[he knows more about plants since he's been on asgard but back home, most of what he knew was keeping flowers alive for mom.]

It's fine. I'm sure they're good.

[theprezident]

They're fine. I checked on them once or twice.

[channellings]

Fine, fine, [he chuckles.] I'll take your word for it.

[theprezident]

[ He falls silent again, but only for a little while, because the house is finally coming into view. ]

Here we are.

[channellings]

[‘here we are,’ he says and klaus's attention flickers toward the house, lingering thoughtfully before directing to rhys.]

Will you, uh— [a beat so he can gather his nerves] —I mean, if there's nothing else you have to do... can you stay a little while?

[theprezident]

Yeah. Of course.

[ No question about it. ]

[channellings]

[with blatant relief:] Thank you, [then he hooks his arm with rhys's and leads the rest of the way home. it'll be different without emil and god only knows if lalli is around right now but—

rhys will be there and that should help.]
